Annoying High-Pitched Noises?

I'm 17 but unlike others around my age, I don't get annoyed when I hear those "high-pitched, mosquito-like sounds." I can hear those sounds, but I don't understand how or why it's annoying. If someone could describe exactly what they feel or why it's painful/annoying, it would be great. Thanks!
